Do you have a Heritage or Heritage-Influenced Shorthorn calf born in 2026 that might be a good candidate for Calf of the Month? The November and December Calf of the Month slots are currently open, so send some good photos to the HSS office along with the calf’s parentage and birthdate for potential featuring as the next Calf of the Month. (The calf needs to be less than 7 months old at the time the photo was taken.)
The October Calf of the Month is a heifer sired by a famous red & white Heritage bull born in 1979 with a standout pedigree.
The current Fall Livestock Conservancy Quarterly Newsletter contains a Heritage Shorthorn ad promoting the use of Heritage Shorthorns in a family farm setting. (See ad in this newsletter)
The HSS Website “Cattle for Sale” Page has over 600 viewers each month, so no matter where else you might be advertising, you should have an ad posted on the HSS website for any cattle (or semen) which you are trying to sell. A basic classified ad is free for HSS members with no limit on the number of words in the ad (within reason). Photos can be added to the classified ad for a nominal fee.
