Verified Heritage Bulls

This Heritage Verified Shorthorn Bull list is provided to assist Shorthorn Breeders who are interested in tracing Heritage/Native bloodlines. The list is comprised of Shorthorn bulls (starting in the 1950’s) that have gone through a vetting process and have been verified as having all ancestors in their pedigree being 100% full blood Shorthorns tracing to the original Coates herd book of 1822. No known outside blood has been added, by pedigree.

Information and pictures on many of these bulls are available under the “Classic Bulls” (A to H, and J to Z) Pages of our website.

This list is incomplete at present, and will be expanded with additional Shorthorn bulls as their breeders/owners take the necessary steps to qualify them for Heritage status. If you are interested in a specific bull that is not listed below, enter his name in the HSS Online Registry (https://registry.heritageshorthorn.org), and look for Heritage Shorthorn designation &/or an “N” after his registration number. **All of the Shorthorn bulls listed in the Historical Shorthorns Section of our website are considered to be Verified Heritage Sires, but are not included on this mainly post-1950 list.
